In 18 months of publishing Bootlovers.Com we have had the pleasure of highlighting a wide variety of bootmakers, from small shops with a single, old-world cobbler toiling over a beautiful pair of made-to-measure thigh-highs to mass-production manufacturers who crank out hundreds of pairs of boots every day. This month we are pleased to present a company that's somewhere in between. Karo's Shoes, located in Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley, designs and makes many of the wild, exotic, stripper-and-porn-star boots seen in North America. In this feature DJ introduces you to Karo, takes you on a tour of his immaculate shoe- and boot-making facility, and shows you the flashy, sassy, sexy boots he makes! Oh, and they take custom orders too!

THE WILD PAIR CROTCH HIGHS

In the 1980s, no boot, no place, made as much of an impact on boot fetishists as the now famous, ultra thigh-high calf-leather pull-on offered by the North America-wide sexy shoestore chain, The Wild Pair. This inexpensive, readily available "kinky" thigh boot exploded on the everyday fashion scene in America, appearing everywhere. Suddenly high school girls and grandmothers were proudly pulling black leather up their legs, and those of us who appreciate such things took notice.

In this issue's Boot of the Month feature, Teri and DJ examine the phenomenon of the Wild Pair thigh-high. Many of our Bootlovers.Com subscribers were weaned on this boot. It was on display at your local shopping mall. Possibly a girl at your school wore them to chemistry class. They are a part of our fetish history and deserve the recognition we give them in this heavily photo-illustrated feature!
